To Campers, Individuals, and Churches

I hear it from my wife, Heather, all of the time.  She says, “Oh, you’re so perfect.”  Of course, she says this with sarcasm because I am far from it.  You only need to look at the last page of this newsletter to find that I am not.  But the truth   is that no one on Earth except Christ has ever been perfect.  For most of us, the fear of making a mistake will sometimes keep us from doing the task or activity which would lead to a mistake.  But when it comes to things we might do in service to God, this response is generally harmful.

Satan is a liar, and he will tell us that we should avoid activities in service to God that might lead to us making a mistake.  He might also tell us that we should not serve God because of some mistake we have already made.  However, he really just wants to keep us from serving God.  Let me say, reject Satan’s

lies and serve God.  If you never make a mistake while serving God, then you are not serving God.  Although we should always strive for perfection, we need to understand that God uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plan.  Interestingly enough, our imperfection is what brings us to a need for God.

As summer camp approaches this year, I hope you will consider what God may accomplish in you and through you in achieving His perfect plan.

                                   Love in Christ,
