To Campers Hey Gang, Can you believe that Thanksgiving is here and that Christmas is just around the corner? I can’t. It seems to me like summer camp was just a couple of weeks ago, and before you know it, it will be time for summer camp again. But while Thanksgiving and Christmas are here, you have a unique opportunity to share Christ in a way that might not be as easy at other times of the year. You see, one of the comments that I regularly hear from campers is that it is hard to tell others about Christ. If that’s the case for you, here are a couple of suggestions that could serve as a first step toward sharing the Gospel. When asked what you are thankful for, say “I thank God for” this or that rather than “I am thankful for” this or that. Also, when people say, “happy holidays,” respond by saying “Merry Christmas.”
These things may not seem like much, but they can make a real impact in a world that is trying to remove God and Christ from the thoughts and minds of all men, women, boys, and girls. The world wants no thought of God because they don’t want to be reminded that God will judge them for the bad things that they do. But a remembrance of God encourages the world to accept Christ and to turn from their wicked ways. So, share your faith in these simple ways, and maybe it will even open the door for you to share God’s plan of salvation.
Love in Christ, Daniel Osborne

Extra! Extra! Ways to Provide Extra Support for Your Camp
The majority of financial support for Camp Jacob comes from regular donations by churches and individuals. In addition to regular donations, many churches have found ways to generate extra donations through Vacation Bible School offerings, Quarter Folder giving, by placing special money collectors in their churches, and other such endeavors. These efforts are vital to the survival of Camp Jacob. Is your church youth group looking for a special project? Does your church want to show extra support for the camp ministry? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then maybe your group should consider a special fundraiser. In the past, churches and youth groups have held Bake Sales, Cake and Pie Auctions and Car Washes to raise money. Some Ladies Auxiliaries have spotlighted Camp Jacob for their quarterly missions talk and have collected a special offering. Other ideas might be to hold a Pancake or Spaghetti Supper. Camp Jacob strives to share the Gospel and biblical truths to the youth of our day through summer camp programs. Put out some extra effort and show your support of this worthy cause!

Skills Needed for Repairs and Improvements
One does not have to spend much time at Camp Jacob to realize that there is considerably more that needs to be done than one person could possibly do, and I am just referring to the task of property maintenance. Here are just a few of the projects that could be addressed:
· The boys bath house needs to have its drains replaced along with some improvements to this building.
· Ten of the cabins that are used have not been adopted by a church and stand in need of repairs, some minor and some major.
· New water lines need to be installed between the pump house and the lodge.
· The lodge remodeling needs to be completed.
· The pavilion needs a curtain hung on the south side.
· The twirling slide and swings need to be sandblasted and painted.
· Direction signs need to be made and put up.
· The barn roof needs to be painted and repaired.
· The playground needs some attention.
These are certainly not the only repairs and improvements that are needed, but hopefully you get the picture. If you or your church would like to tackle one of these or a similar project, please let me know. We especially would like to see more cabins adopted by churches. Material costs to fix one cabin ranges from $200 to $5,000 depending on which cabin you choose.
Also, if you have a skill that you would like to use in service to the Lord at Camp Jacob, please give us a call. We do not want you to miss out on the blessing you would receive by helping us achieve our mission.
